About

Born in Montenegro, Katarina is an accomplished costume and set designer based in Milan, Italy, with extensive experience in theater, opera, and digital media. Since 2016, she has designed costumes for numerous theatrical productions and operas in prestigious Italian and international theaters through out Europe, collaborating with renowned directors such as Filippo Dini, Serena Sinigaglia, Valerio Binasco, Francesco Frongia, Pierpaolo Sepe, Gigi Dall’Aglio, Carlos Martín, Dejan Projkovski, and Ryan W.Harris.

In 2017–2018, she worked alongside Academy Award-winning costume designer Franca Squarciapino as costume a designer and second assistant, further refining her expertise in the craft. Her work has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Italian “Claudio Abbado” Prize for Best Costume Design (2015) and Montenegro’s “Bucko Radonjić” Award for Best Costume Designer.

Since 2023, she has been a lecturer at the AFOL Academy of Costume and Fashion in Milan, frequently mentoring students from leading institutions such as NABA, Accademia di Brera, Santa Giulia di Brescia, and Dar Al-Hekma University in Jeddah. In addition to her work in theater and academia, she has recently expanded into the world of video game design, creating costumes and character aesthetics for interactive media.

She holds both a bachelor’s degree in Scenography (2014) and a master’s degree with honors in Costume for Theatre (2017) from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. She speaks four languages—Serbo-Croatian, English, French, and Italian.
